Changi Village Coconut And Aloe Vera Drinks
Whether you are at Changi Village because you are heading to Pulau Ubin, enjoying sunset views along the scenic boardwalk while walking or jogging on the Changi Point Coastal Walk, fishing, cycling, kayaking, or eating at the Changi Village Hawker Centre, you must try the ice blended drinks, and the coconut and aloe vera drinks from Zhung Long Sugarcane Juice stall.
Since 1976, this drinks stall has been the destination of many thirsty patrons who are in the Changi Village area.
Our favourite has always been the coconut drink, add coconut pulp, and add aloe vera. All these for only $2.40.
Coconut pulp and coconut water provide medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) and electrolyts, which boost our energy levels through supporting blood sugar levels and digestive health because of its fibre, manganese, iron, magnesium, and copper.
These essential nutrients can help boost immunity, may improve brain function by providing an additional source of fuel to the brain, and they also possess antibacterial properties.
Coconut water can be a healthy, flavourful way for us to stay hydrated in the tropical heat, and may also support heart and kidney health.
Coconut may help with hormone regulation, and strengthen hair.
Rich in B vitamins like B6 (pyridoxine), B2 (riboflavin), B1 (thiamine), vitamin C, coconut is good source of energy that also provides antioxidant properties and helps aid digestion.
Of course, those with diabetes, kidney disorders, and high blood pressure should consult with their doctors and dieticians before consuming coconut.
We love the aloe vera that we ask the aunty to add to our coconut + coconut pulp drink.
Aloe vera is known to soothe irritated skin, heal wounds, and reduce inflammation because of its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
Its many uses include hydrating skin, promoting digestion, and potentially stabilize or lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
Some people who have canker sores – also known as mouth ulcers – have been known to use aloe vera to accelerate the healing of mouth ulcers.
For those of us who are worried about signs of aging of our skin, a scientific study in 2020 has found that taking aloe sterol increased skin barrier function, skin moisture, skin elasticity, and collagen content. All of these can contribute to a healthier appearance of our skin.
We know that aloe vera and coconut are healthy additions to our diet, and they taste fabulous when we are thirsty.
